A Savvy Start:

A young entrepreneur builds her media empire

Searching for the Perfect Daily Routine

The “phone sheet” plan I created yesterday did the job today. I spent my drive into work making phone calls and got at least 17 of them out of the way. I called everyone on my list. I connected with almost no one, but at least I got my name on his or her phone sheet.

My routine still isn’t set. I really want to make all of my calls in the morning. Because of time differences around the country, I think this will be ideal. Today I spent the afternoon creating documents to better package my business: press releases, bios, fact sheets, etc. They are in the first-draft stages, but at least now they exist.

At around 6:30 p.m. every day I’m trying to take a breather and blog (as I’m doing now), and also write up a productivity report for the day. It’s hard to track sent e-mails because I send so many in one day, but I’d like to keep track of the people I’m reaching out to via e-mail. This will also make me feel more confident about the work I’ve accomplished in a day.

I’m leaving at a decent hour this evening because I must go work out. With my stress level where it is, I’ve found working out to be a true savior. I’m trying to work out four nights during the work week. It gives me a place to control and focus my energy, and get rid of any negative energy I might have.

Tomorrow is a big day for me. It’s my first day of meetings. I’m meeting with four different people–all for different reasons. They vary from school counselors to potential partners. Tomorrow I’ll do a blog about how to prepare for your first meeting as a new endeavor. Get excited.

Hope you all had a wonderful Wednesday!

ATB,

The Intern Queen (Lauren)

Try incorporating Eastern techniques such as yoga, meditation, Tai Chi or meditation to combat stress naturally!

One thing, well no there are two things that have really helped simplify my managing of tasks, first getting an iPhone and linking all my email accounts to one central location, I can quickly delete all the fluff during the day so when I get home I only the important items left to address.
The second is then using a voice activated to do list where I can record from my phone a reminder message and have it sent either via email or as a text message on any given day or time. I can use the 40 minutes I commute to and from work as time to brain dump the things I don’t want to forget but won’t keep me up at night worrying I might.
