A Savvy Start:

A young entrepreneur builds her media empire

A Better Blog

I have to take a minute to thank all of my loyal readers who were so understanding of my last blog. I’m usually a stickler for positivity, but sometimes the great unknown can really get the best of you. So I appologize for the negativity but, in some ways, it’s a good reality check for us all.

The good news is that I’m in a much better mindset. I’ve learned to let go a little bit and not take everything in the corporate world so seriously. I was up until 4 a.m. last night getting my clients’ resumes and information out to great companies. I’m currently working with a handful of clients to find them summer internships. This week was one of the most productive I’ve had. I went to a great cafe in the valley this week and spent a good four hours brainstorming and researching information on my company and similar companies.

I just started watching Melrose Place (I have the first season on DVD), so my routine has been to go home and work, and watch those episodes at the same time. Sometimes if I don’t have a distraction on in the background I get too sleepy late at night.

I’m also working on fine-tuning my business plan for potential investors. What I thought would happen with the last investors did happen… they disappeared. Oh! The life of an entrepreneur!

This weekend I’m taking time on Saturday to make sure I get in a good three hours of work. I have a busy social schedule this weekend with a friend’s birthday party and plans to travel to Laguna Beach on Sunday, but I’m not going to let that get in the way of getting work done. Productivity is key, and it makes me feel so much better when I get things done. It’s amazing how much stress was taken off my shoulders when I just sat down and worked for a while.

To be continued (On a more regular basis - I promise).
